After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice that I had heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."

The appearance of the EnthronedκαὶGod is described not in form but in refracted light — flashing gemstones — and encircled by an emerald rainbow, the bow of covenant mercy (Gen 9) surrounding the throne of judgment.

And the first living creature was like a lion, and the second living creature like an ox, and the third living creature had a face like a man's, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.
